It’s really funny if you imagine that fish trying to get into that tree …but aren’t we all guilty of those expectations sometimes?
This can be towards somebody else but today, I want to talk about your expectations towards yourself!
The most important thing to remember is, DO NOT LOOK at anyone else but yourself!
Do not compare yourself to anyone but the person you were yesterday!
First of all: find your passion, know your talents.
What did you like to do when you were 8 or 10 years old?
What do people compliment you upon?
What do people come to you for?
…
That is what your good at!
This is where your talent, your passion lays!
Develop your OWN talent!! Don’t try to compete with a squirrel to climb a tree when you are a fish! The same goes for the squirrel who should not compete with the fish to swim in the ocean!
Every talent is valuable, every talent is unique!
So be unique,
be yourself,
the world needs YOU
and nobody but you can be that person!
Be the best person you can become!
Talent is one thing, everybody is gifted at something but then the journey starts.
Talent is an advantage but accomplishes nothing by itself.
You have to start working hard, develop your talent, become a master of your craft!
Nobody became successful just by sitting there and let ‘talent’ do its thing.
Day after day, you have to learn, you have to work hard, you have to try again and again after failure, be patient with yourself.
Einstein said: “I am not that smart, I stay with problems longer.’
The same goes for other geniuses like Leonardo da Vinci: he learned for years from other masters before he became a master himself.
We all see the end result but we forget to look at the journey they too had to take to reach that peak performance.
So I can only urge you to find your talent, work very hard on it, become a master while enjoying the yourney to get there!
You will be so proud of yourself and others will be too because you give them the best you there is!
The world needs you, needs your talents, don’t hold back on them!
Share what you learn, what you know, what you can!!
And the world will be a marvellous place full of diversity, full of talented people, full of people being their best selves!!
No more comparison, no more jealousy, only awe for each other’s talents!
