
The holiday season is approaching very fast!!!
Two more days and it’s Christmas Eve!
The Christmas tree is standing proud and tall surrounded by all the gifts we are going to give our loved ones.

But one of the most important gifts in life, we have to give ourselves….
A GOOD HEALTH!!
People very often say without thinking twice: I wish you a Happy New Year and may you enjoy a good health!
Even though it sounds a bit old fashioned, this is one of the nicest things people can wish us!
Everything starts and ends with a good health!
Unfortunately we only realize what we have once we’ve lost it…
Luckily we often get a second chance!
Then we start paying more attention because we know what it is, not having it anymore!
So what are you waiting for?
The only person who can give you a healthy lifestyle, is YOU!
See your body as a temple.

Treat it with love and care.
Think twice before you mindlessly fill your stomac with food and drinks.
I already mentioned this in one of my previous blogs: “If we would be cannibals, the human meat would not get approved for consumption!!! “ Just imagine this!!
We are that poisoned….!
The good news is: it’s all in our own hands!!!
You can enjoy the holidays with nice food without torturing your body!

Eat organic food!

Prepare your food yourselves!

Avoid too much sugar!
Eat pure dishes, don’t drown your food with cream, or other fats.
Eat the right combinations:
veggies and meat/fish/eggs/nuts
veggies and pasta/rice/potatoes/cereals

It is that simple!
Eat in those combinations and you never again have that feeling of…
OMG my belly is going to explode..!!! Thank God for stretch clothing…

Drink as much water as you can! It purifies your body!

Move your body!

Go for a long walk!
Go for a run!

Get on your bike!
Breathe!
Enjoy nature!
And last but not least: SLEEP!!

Sleep rejuvenites your body, your brain, …
Sleep is the only thing that your body will eventually claim: you will fall asleep even if you really don’t want to go to sleep. It is a safety mechanism of our body because we can’t live without sleeping. Please let your body sleep before your survival mechanism has to kick in…

I often get the question: it’s easy to start a healthy life style but… how do I keep on living that way?

It actually is very simple:
Know WHY you want it! The real why, not the easy answer.

Keep asking why and you will finally hear yourself saying your real why!
Why does this nice grandma want to loose weight?
Because the doctor said so? not good enough.
Because she wants to look good in that dress? not good enough.
Because she wants to feel better in her body? maybe…
Because she wants to live longer to see her grandkids grow up? BINGO!!!
Now every time she hesitates to eat that extra cookie, … she reminds herself of her why!
why did I choose to eat healthily?
To enjoy my grandkids as long as possible!

No more debate: the choice is easy: 5 minutes joy from eating a cookie or years of joy playing with my grandkids! Simple and easy!
That’s why you are the only one who can figure out your why and live it!
You choose!
Only you!

Once it’s clear what you want and why:
Plan it.
Put it in your agenda and hit that repeat button: every day/twice a week/ every week….!

No excuses necessary/ possible because you know your why!
Keep it up long enough and it will become such a habit that you no longer ask yourself whether or not you will go for that run.
You will just put on your running shoes and you will go!
Block it and let nothing push it out of that time slot!
Treat it as that important meeting that you would never dream of cancelling!
It is very simple and it will become easy after a while.
Adapt your surroundings so that it becomes your natural way of eating, sleeping, being active,…
Do it and you will be so proud of yourself!!!
