The darkest days of the year,
Wintertime,
The meltdown after the holidays,

We just want to curl up in the sofa with a good book and a nice hot drink. (Or worse we want to stuff ourselves with junk in front of the TV, OMG!)
But reality kicks in: school has started again, we have to go to work, traffic jams on a dark rainy morning…..

So, we have to make sure we keep our energy level up!!!
What gives you energy?
What makes you truly happy,
What do you always look forward to?
…
To figure that out you have to:
Breathe!
So beneficient and so underpracticed!
Start today, start with one deep inhale and one long exhale!
Feel the air, follow the air in and out, feel your body relaxing
It’s so easy and you can do it anywhere so you have absolutely no excuse what so ever for not doing it….
Make it a ritual
Connect it to a trigger:
for instance before you get out of bed, breathe 5 times in and out, very slowly and very deeply, and then get out of bed. You’ll feel more relaxed, more in control, more energized.
or for instance after you’ve parked your car, breathe! And you’ll be more ready and more focused to start your day.
Choose whatever trigger works for you. Repeat it until it’s become a habit (and we all know how difficult it is to break a habit; which is a good thing when it’s about good habits!!)
Reconnect with nature!
We all search for a deeper meaning in life, we want to feel authentic, not shallow, not the rat in the rat race,…
We often forget that we are a part of nature, and the further we go from our true self, from nature, the more disconnected we feel.
Go back into nature, look around you, listen to the sounds of the birds, the wind, the rain, the waves…, or to the silence.
The relaxation you feel here, the pureness you experience here is so much more powerful that any kind of artificially induced relaxation.
You’ll feel whole again, connected to our source.

Treat your body als your temple!

You get one wonderful body and it’s up to you how long you will enjoy it.
Choose carefully what you eat, drink!
Go for that walk, run, swim, tennis, yoga,…
(You can read all about this in my previous blog)

Go to bed!
Stop the binch watching, stop the endless scrolling on that thing which is not alive, does not care for you, keeps you away from your loved ones…
Get that so much needed sleep and you’ ll keep up your energy level, your health, both physically and mentally.
Take the time to think!

Everybody has the same amount of time. Lack of time is not the disease, it’s the symptom of our busy busy busy life.
Stop for a moment!
Schedule time to think in your calendar.
Yes, you read this right! It’s not a joke. All the ‘big minds’ of the world schedule time to think, to reassess life, work,…
Use that scheduled time to just think:

What do I live for?
What will I never give up on?
Life is too short to tolerate ….( fill in what goes for you)
What do I always look forward to?
What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
…

Figure this out and make time for it: even if it’s 10 minutes/day, 1 hour/week, 1 day/month,… but do it NOW!!!!!!
If not now, than when?
Nobody can assure you of tomorrow.
If you spend time doing what brings you to the core of who you are,
you are happier,
you feel more confident,
you acknowledge who you are,
You appreciate yourself more,
You feel calmer,
You feel good, full of positive energy!
People will feel that positive vibe you’re sending and it’s contagious ( this is actually scientifically proven!), they will react in a more positive way towards you too which leads to a positive spiral upwards!

Live YOUR life, feel GOOD about yourself!
And you’ll feel the energy flowing!!
Wishing you a very thoughtful, very reconnecting, very eye opening and energetic week!!!

Thanks for reading me!!!
