“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see” Mark Twain

Kindness is in our DNA. We are the only mammals that are helpless for such a long time after birth. We rely on kindness or we would not survive!

The Dalai Lama says: “ Practise an intelligent kind of selfishness: in being kind to others, you are being kind to yourself .

So please never stop being kind!

Being kind, doesn’t mean you have to be a doormat! You perfectly keep your integrity in place if you don’t lash out to the one that was rude to you. It was the other person’s rudeness, not yours.

Just keep in mind that it is your ego that wants revenge, it’s the ego which was hurt, not you! Nobody can put you down if you don’t let them!

In being kind to others, you make the shift

From:

talking, wanting to prove you are right

to:

listening, accepting yourself, life and others as they are right now. This brings such a peace of mind that, indeed, in being kind to others, you are kind to yourself!

Seeing the present as good enough,

people as good enough,

situations as worthy enough to be lived,……

You no longer seek, hunger for that future of which you hope it will be better….Better than what?

When will your life be good enough for you to start enjoying it?

Being kind becomes easier when we live in the present. Therefor it is necessary to be mindful. Take your time to listen to the silence, to plug in to your inner self. Here you will feel the bliss of compassion towards yourself and others. It’s easier to be kind when you look at others with compassion.

When somebody cuts you off in traffic, you don’t know what their day has been like. Maybe they are in pain, maybe they just lost a loved one, maybe they just had a bitter fight with their spouse, maybe they just received bad news,….

You gain nothing by attacking them verbally, or by giving them the finger….All you gain from an aggressive reaction is a peak in your blood pressure.

Just imagine how you would feel when attacked on a day when already the whole universe is conspiring against you ( or so it feels).

Or how it would feel if just then, in that moment, somebody was nice to you.

Breathe, feel compassion, recognize yourself on your bad day in them and let the anger just pass. Breathe and be kind. You will feel so much better!!!

I know it’s not easy, it takes practice, but what you gain from it is sooooooo worth it!!!!!

Wishing you patience, compassion, good practice, and feeling great after you have shown kindness to the world around you!!!

Always very grateful to you for reading my blog!!!!
