Hearing….
Understanding…
Feeling compassionate…
Showing interest….
Focussing 100% on the narrator…
Our world is so loud, so busy, so noisy,…that we hardly hear what is said, what people are trying to tell us.
Therefore I write this blog as a request to everyone:
When you are in a conversation with someone,
no matter with whom,
no matter if it’s about a huge topic or just a friendly chat about the weather:
please listen!
Take at least twice the time to listen as you take the time to speak.
Only then you will give the other person the space, the opportunity to speak and say what they want to say.
When people feel that somebody listens, they are happy and they radiate that on to others! So everybody benefits!
If you listen without judging, it’s also an opportunity for you to grow, to learn new views.
And I would like to quote the founder of a successful company: “ Ce qui mérite d’être fait, mérite d’être bien fait!”
And so it goes for listening too: if you want to listen, listen well and hear the other person.
